Efficacy
GEMZAR/carboplatin compared to carboplatin alone according to the results of a pivotal randomized phase III study.
- Superior response rates compared to carboplatin alone
- Superior progression-free survival compared to carboplatin alone

There was 53% improvement in overall response rate.

The combination of GEMZAR/carboplatin doubled the complete response rate when compared with carboplatin alone.
The overall survival difference between GEMZAR/carboplatin (18.0 months) vs carboplatin (17.3 months) was not significant (p=0.8977).

Superior progression-free survival
GEMZAR in combination with carboplatin demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in PFS and overall response rate compared with carboplatin alone in a pivotal randomized phase III study.
GEMZAR/carboplatin offers superior progression-free survival and superior response rates over carboplatin alone, providing better disease control.* The addition of GEMZAR to carboplatin resulted in statistically significant improvement in median PFS (nearly 3 months), overall response rate, and complete response rate when compared to carboplatin alone.

GEMZAR in combination with carboplatin offered 49% improvement in median PFS compared with carboplatin alone.
*Disease control means the combination of response rate and progression-free survival outcome.
GEMZAR in combination with carboplatin is indicated for the treatment of patients with advanced ovarian cancer that has relapsed at least 6 months after completion of platinum-based therapy.
Myelosuppression is usually the dose-limiting toxicity with GEMZAR therapy.
